Requirements:

  • NQF Level 2 or Grade 10 or equivalent qualification.
  • Food service experience in a clinical or hospital environment is advantageous.
  • Preference will be given to EPWP/Interns.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and under stressful conditions.
  • Availability to work weekends, night shifts, and public holidays.
  • Commitment to diversity and equity, particularly in terms of race, gender, and disability.

Duties:

  • Prepare normal and therapeutic diets following standardized recipes.
  • Portion meals according to ration scales and prescriptions.
  • Maintain hygiene and safety standards according to HACCP rules and OHS standards.
  • Handle and lift heavy food service equipment.
  • Manage allocated resources responsibly.
  • Be flexible to work in various areas of the Cook Freeze factory as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
